Welcome to this website about the North Ascot project for new Schools, Housing, Scout Hut and Recreation Ground between Rhododendron Walk and Forest Road, which is intended to provide you with information about the plans for this site.
Our new Myth Busting page dispels some ongoing myths about our proposals.
Following considerable community consultation and engagement, an outline planning application for the North Ascot site was submitted to Bracknell Forest Council in July 2018. This website summarises the final proposals and sets out the considerable changes that have been made following the public consultation in October 2017 and the ongoing engagement with stakeholders throughout 2018.
Following the decision of the Governing Bodies of the Ascot Heath Infant School and Ascot Heath CE Junior School and the Local Education Authority to consider the amalgamation of the existing schools, there are now two options for the school element of the application. Option 1 maintains the separate Infant and Junior schools within one building. Option 2 presents a solution for the two schools merging to form a Primary school. This application does not seek to pre-empt or prejudice the formal consultation process on the amalgamation of the existing schools.
Further changes include the introduction of affordable housing to respond to local need and changes to the road and access plans to address traffic concerns.
Marplace submitted an amendment to the planning application to Bracknell Forest Council on 22nd November, removing all references to the specific use as an Academy Golf Course.
This was due to current uncertainties over the timescale and delivery of the previously proposed Academy Golf Course and as a result of further feedback from local stakeholders about the use of the western half of the field which is now shown as a Recreation Ground on the amended Master Plans and Strategic Landscape Plan. A further statutory consultation period will be open for 21 days from publication by the Council.
A stakeholder letter regarding these changes is available to view here.
The amended planning application supersedes the proposals made public in October 2017, but still includes a new hut for the 1st Ascot (All Saints) Scout Group and high quality, family homes on the site of the existing schools.
